Honeymoon Day 1

We flew into California (Ontario) got our rental car (a sweet Toyota Corolla) for my husband who LOVES Corollas, but it got great gas milage which was good for those California gas prices! And drove to our hotel in Anaheim.
I saw my first ever palm tree growing in the ground (this picture was a few days later at Hearst Castle):

Then we went to the Newport Beach temple, it was beautiful. But we got kicked out after only a few minutes there.

Next we went down to Newport Beach beach... it was funny because I always ask Paul when we're watching movies or TV shows set in California all the girls are walking around town in bikinis and the boys without thier shirts and he always denies it... WRONG! It was totally true here! No pictures of that though sorry, we did see a sea lion on the beach AND saw a dolphin jumping out of the water. Not bad wildlife viewing for a city beach!

And let me tell you what SAVED us the entire trip... the love of Paul's life (and it's not me) it was his...

Welcome to the future!

You will all be DELIGHTED to know that Paul and I finally have joined the 21st century and got the internet at our apartment! That means I can join my fun family in the blogging world again! This way I'll be forced to take pictures... and communicate with my siblings. All bonuses. Keep posted for updates :)

First wedding disappointment...

Sad story... long ago I thought I had found the PERFECT invitations. Right color... brown and white... perfect pattern... damask. But they're BLACK and white! I'm so sad!!! So your mission all of you is to help me find this... in brown and white :)

WE'RE ENGAGED!!!!

Paul finally proposed!!! I'm SOOOOOOOOOO happy!

He proposed on Saturday night, December 7th. We came to my house after watching a movie with his little sister so that I could pack for our trip to the Tri-Cities, to see Jeremy and to come to my work party (where we won a Wii... by the way!). So, he was playing with my guitar and told me that he had written a song and asked if I wanted to hear it. So he played a little for me then said that he had written me a song too. He then proceeded to sing me a song. It was awesome... it was about how he isn't a romantic mushy person, but he knows that he loves me. :) Then when he was done he asked "Have you ever dropped your pick in your guitar?" I said that I had, then he asked how I got it out. I described how I did it... which is centering the pick under the hole and then flipping it over really fast. That idea didn't work for him, so he told me that he just holds it over his head and shakes it really hard and it falls out. Then told me to try it. I thought that was odd... but did it. I started shaking it and my ring fell out! I was in SHOCK!

Happy Birthday Paul! Belated...

So I suppose I should be a good girlfriend and wish Paul a happy birthday. So a big 23 reasons why I love Paul.

1. He's a hotty!! Look at him... funny story about this picture. He was borrowing my laptop (before it got stolen) and didn't like that I had a desktop picture of Matthew McConaughey... so he took this and made it my desktop.

2. He makes killer egg salad sandwiches.

3. He let's me shop for him... within reason.

4. He's the most patient person I've EVER met.

5. He NEVER gets mad... he amazes me!

6. He's teaching me how to play the guitar.

7. He liked me for about 2 months... the majority of the time I was busy liking someone else.

8. He didn't even get mad when his car got hit... twice... by a city sanding truck this past winter.

9. He's a really good hugger.

10. He's got a super cool family... and he thinks mine is pretty ok too.

11. He plays the guitar really really well.

12. He sings well too.

13. He treats me really really really well.

14. He LOVES the church.

15. He has great priorities... love family, kids, the gospel.

16. Did I mention that he's really cute.

17. He hates country music.. oh wait. That's BAD!

18. He likes my cooking.

19. He remembers everything. When I was doing the tagged blog he remembered more about me last year than I did.

20. He loved his mission... to Colorado Springs, Colorado (in case you couldn't figure out where that was)

Paul and I are going to answer the TAGGED questions... side by side so you can all laugh at the contrast.

What was I doing 10 years ago?
N: I was 16 years old (Junior year of high school)... probably had just recently gone to Homecoming with Jeremy Quilter(?). Wore a red satin dress and my hair was not so cute :) had icky curly cues on both sides of my face... like Little Bo Peep.
P: I had just started to establish myself as a powerhouse in the 7th grade wrestling scene:) I was 13... still too young for church dances.

What was I doing 5 years ago?
N: I was working on my pre-requisite classes for pharmacy school at WSU in Pullman. I think I was working at the WSU dining services and starting to tutor for general chemistry. Live in an apartment on Terre View Drive with 3 girls.
P: Actually, ten years ago might just be the exact day that I got my drivers license. I was 18, and I drove to school the next day in our pimped out red chevy astro van. I also had just passed my year mark with my first girlfriend... a red head. ha ha

What was I doing 1 year ago?
N: Working on my 4th year of pharmacy school... on my rotation at Deaconess Medical Center, where we got up really early in the morning (5:30... ugh!) and followed medical residents around on rounds and made sure they were doing the right thing with medicating their patients. I was LOVING it because I had a FATTY crush on a resident there, Dr. John Jones, who was in my singles ward. And I got to see him every morning, he had the night shift and we (my residents and I) took over for him in the morning so he had to report to us. Then we would all usually eat breakfast together... dreamy. It obviously worked out well for me. :)
P: It was right about this time, that I realized that I might have a crush on Natalie... and I'm not sure why, we would spend a lot of time hanging out, and she'd tell me all about Dr. John and how they were meant to be together... good times. I was home from my mission for about four months and recently broke up with my second girlfriend.

What was I doing yesterday?
N: Church day! Woke up a little early because I was substituting as a Relief Society teacher. Gave a fun lesson on dating... because I'm an expert! Paul and I went to church with his family, his little nephew was being blessed, Jacob Aaron Ramos. The WHOLE family was there. All 8 kids, plus spouses and children. Then we all went to eat the the other grandparent's house. I was feeling sick all day, coming down with a lovely cold.
P:I had to teach two lessons yesterday at church, mission preparation, and priesthood. We also ate tacos and pie... we, meaning, myself and my 3rd girlfriend, natalie... the best one obviously! We watched some dumb movie called the musketeer... so retarded. Fat french guys that can fly and sword fight at the same time, isn't all that cool, but kind of funny. The day ended with enjoying some of my 23rd birthday presents... disney-princess fruit snacks... so good.

N: 1. In bed (still not feeling good)
2. In New Englad (always wanted to go there in the fall)
3. Some beach... somewhere.
4. At the mall... I've got a bit of a shopping addiction.

6. Overall I'm pretty happy where I am... with Paul and he's making me lunch. :)

N: Pay off my student loans and buy a cute old house on the South Hill in Spokane.
P: Build my own music recording studio, and buy my parents a house

My most memorable thing right now:
N: I'm learning how to play the guitar from an amazing guitar teacher... did I mention that I got myself a guitar. It's sooo pretty. :)
P: Getting a new guitar from my girlfriend, it's amazingly beautiful... I just like to pet it like a puppy, and play it too.

Icicile fun

Paul and I came over to Wenatchee this past weekend. Our fun consisted of watching the God's Must Be Crazy... he laughed a grand total of 3 times, going to church, and going on a freezing picinic to the Icicle. It was windy and 57 degrees the whole time! And we were dressed for summer fun. But all was well, we played an amazing game of fetch with Waldo, he wasn't affected by the cold weather or the cold water, until Paul threw a log in for him to catch. But he was a trooper and fetched the log... but upon bringing it back to shore promptly took it up shore and hid it in the bushes so we could only play with appropriate sticks. Smart little puppy!

Summer fun with diamonds... baseball diamonds

So many weeks ago Paul and I went to the Spokane Indians (a semi-pro team here in Spokane) with a few of our friends. Turns out we got the tickets free and they were awesome tickets, but they came with a catch. The friend who got us the tickets is a medical resident here and the residents have to go to a certain number of the games and take care of anyone, fan, player, worker, that gets hurt. Added a whole new dimension of excitement to the game. We watched the destination and result of EVERY fly ball... and there were a LOT of them. She had to run and take care of 5 different people... All in all I think it made me enjoy the game substantially more... not such a huge baseball fan ya know!

So I got rid of my ferret (don't clap too hard Hilary) quite some time ago... but wanted to share a picture of my little darling with you all. Ryan will appreciate it if no one else will. Here's the sad part of getting rid of him. Gave him away to a friend in spokane so that I could go visit him when the fancy struck. But then she went and moved away... for RUDE!
